What does it really mean to be a gifted adult?
The research doesn’t always agree. But one thing is clear: being gifted isn’t about having the highest IQ or being the smartest person in the room. Sure, intelligence might be a by-product—but it’s not the point.
In my world, giftedness is about the lived experience of being wired differently—of feeling more intensely, thinking more deeply, and sensing more acutely than most—and very often, struggling to find meaning and purpose.
It’s a blessing.
And it can be a curse.
👇 This illustration captures both sides of that experience:

Giftedness can be inspiring, creative, visionary—even brilliant.
But it can also be lonely, overwhelming, and misunderstood.
While the world may label gifted adults as “geniuses” or “phenoms” (if they’re seen at all), many quietly wrestle with feeling like too much, not enough, or both—all at once.
That’s the tension we have to navigate. The good news is that there are tools to help us make sense of our inner world, reconnect with meaning, and live into our unique potential.
If you see yourself in this… you’re not alone.
You’re in the right place.
