Frequently Asked Questions

Encounter Groups are small groups that meet virtually meet for 12 consecutive weeks.

EG’s are immensely valuable for several reasons:

  1. EG’s are an opportunity for you to put your personal and professional development into practice. EG’s are like a laboratory for your personal growth.
  2. EG’s offer you a mirror of yourself – you get to discover and explore different parts of yourself that you see in other people. 
  3. You get to discover how other people see you – an incredibly important part of your personal and professional development. 

All Encounter Groups offered by the Institute take place online – all groups meet virtually.

During an Encounter Group session, members share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with one another in a safe, supportive environment. Sessions are facilitated by a group leader. 

Encounter Groups run for 12 weeks, and each group meeting lasts exactly 90 minutes.

Yes, members do get access to support between sessions. You will learn about how you access that support during Encounter Group orientation.

Sharing personal information is not required, but participants are encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings in order to gain the most benefit from the group experience.

Encounter Groups are confidential, and members are required to maintain confidentiality about what is discussed in the group.

Group members are admitted by invitation only. All group members are vetted by our team to determine if they meet the basic pre-requisites to get the most benefit from an Encounter Group. 

Yes, Encounter Groups offer a supportive and empowering environment to work on personal growth and development. Participants can gain new insights, challenge old patterns, and develop new ways of thinking and behaving.

No. You’ll only be allowed to be in one Encounter Group at a time.  

Prior experience is not required. Encounter Groups are designed to be accessible to anyone who is interested in personal growth and development.

Encounter Groups can be helpful for a wide range of challenges or issues, including relationship problems, anxiety, depression, and more. However, each person’s experience is unique, and the specific benefits they gain from the group may vary.

The size of an encounter group may vary, but typically includes 6-10 participants. This allows for a more intimate and supportive group environment.

If you have a conflict that you know of ahead of time, just let the group know about it at least one week before. Best time to make that announcement will be at the beginning of your Encounter Group Session.

Encounter Groups are not intended to serve as a substitute for therapy. Instead, they are designed to complement therapy and provide a different kind of support and growth opportunity for participants.

Encounter Groups are facilitated by skilled coaches who are trained in our proprietary Encounter Group Methods. 

Encounter Group tuition is $799 per 12-week engagement. Members may make 3 monthly payments of $297.

Encounter Groups with the Institute are invite-only, but you request an invitation. Part of the invitation process is a short Discovery Call to determine if an Encounter Group is the best solution for your growth and development.
